The Urban Health Program (UHP) was established in 1978 with the mission to increase the number of underrepresented students in the Health Sciences. The goal of the Urban Health Program in the Graduate College is to increase the number of graduate students from diverse backgrounds who will conduct health sciences-related research at UIC. The Graduate College awards many MA, MS, and PhD degrees offered through the following colleges each year: College of Applied Health Sciences, College of Dentistry, College of Engineering, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, College of Medicine, College of Nursing, College of Pharmacy, as well as the School of Public Health. In addition, we offer professional development, graduate fellowships, and other initiatives to recruit, retain, and ensure the success of UHP graduate students.
