About

Eduardo is an Ecology and Evolution Ph.D. student in the Department of Biological Sciences at UIC. His broad research interests lie within plant ecology, but his current interests lie in understanding the role of leaf traits in driving the establishment and impact of invasive shrub species at large spatial scales. In addition to these interests, current projects also include collaborations at UIC and the Chicago Botanic Garden. Prior to enrolling at UIC, Eduardo also had experience doing research in soil microbiology and restoration ecology during his time as an undergraduate majoring in Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. In addition to being a PIF Fellow, he is also a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow (NSF GRF).
