UIC PhD Student Desire Ortiz Torres Wins Second Place Award at the Midwestern Association of Graduate Schools 3MT Three Minute Thesis Competition!

The Graduate College would like to congratulate PhD student in Chemistry, Desire Ortiz Torres, on winning the Second Place Award at the 3MT Three Minute Thesis Competition at the Midwestern Association of Graduate Schools Conference that was held in Milwaukee Wisconsin on Friday April 8, 2022. Desire competed against a group of 40 finalists who were first place winners at various Midwestern universities. Desire was selected by a panel of judges as the second-place winner for the entire competition. She will go on to represent UIC at the Council of Graduate Schools 3MT Three Minute Thesis Showcase in San Francisco, California in December 2022.

Desire was selected as the first-place winner from the UIC Graduate College Virtual 3MT Three Minute Thesis Competition on Friday March 11, 2022. This was the 5th year we were able to host the competition. Below are the winner’s names and departments of the 2022 UIC Competition.
