Seyed Mohsen Ranjbaran receives UI System award!
Seyed Mohsen Ranjbaran, a second-year Ph.D. student in biomedical engineering within Dr. Kamran Avanaki’s research group, the Optical & Photoacoustic Imaging Research and Analysis Lab, has been awarded the UI System's Firdawsi Science Fellowship, which is awarded annually to a graduate-level Iranian student attending the University of Illinois system. Seyed stood out for his many distinguishing qualities, including his academic scholarship (10 journal publications, two as first author), his development of a robust algorithm for image reconstruction in photoacoustic tomography, and his service to students as a teaching assistant.
