UIC Receives 2020 Laspau University Award
In a virtual ceremony on August 12, 2020, UIC received the 2020 University Award from Laspau "for its outstanding support and contribution in working with Laspau-administered scholarship grantees." Laspau's excecutive director, Angélica Natera, noted that Laspau staff nominated UIC for its professionalism, responsiveness, humor, and volume of students helped.
Benn Williams, Fellowships and Awards Coordinator, accepted the honor on behalf of four UIC units: Graduate Admissions, Graduate College, Office of International Services and Sponsor Billing.
Laspau is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization affiliated with Harvard University that focuses on strengthening higher education in Latin America and the Caribbean. As a Fulbright partner agency, it regularly places over a dozen Foreign Fulbright Students at UIC for graduate study.
