Areas of Greatest Need

Give to the Graduate College Dean’s Fund

For the 2014-2015 academic year, the Graduate College has selected these areas of greatest need:

  • fellowships and awards recognizing outstanding academic promise, socio-economic hardship, pioneering research, interdisciplinarity, and mentoring
  • the Image of Research, an annual exhibit co-sponsored by the Library to showcase graduate research fostering interdisciplinary dialog
  • programs and workshops to encourage professional, academic, and personal development -- volunteer your expertise
  • the PASSAGE Scholars Program, which prepares historically underrepresented students entering PhD programs in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines -- the recipient of the 2012 Award for Innovation in Promoting Success in Graduate Education from the Council of Graduate Schools and the Educational Testing Service
  • the Summer Research Opportunities Program (est. 1986) introduces underrepresented sophomores and juniors to one-on-one mentored academic research
  • the International Teaching Assistants Program trains international graduate students to teach effectively, thereby ensuring undergraduate student success

More funding is crucial for sustaining and expanding our initiatives. You can help by making an annual donation to the Graduate College Dean’s Fund
