Graduate Funding Seminars

Graduate funding can come from many different sources, based on many different criteria, including: your field of study, gender, ethnicity, home state, home country, religion, sexual orientation, veteran’s status or parental status.  How do you find these opportunities?  One of the best ways to find graduate funding is online.  However, knowing which online resources to use and how to use them can be tricky.

In this seminar, we’ll access established search engines such as Community of Sciences, IRIS and SPIN (among others), and learn how to use their wizards to create customized lists of funding opportunities.  We’ll also review some of the pitfalls of online searching.  All of the resources we’ll use are linked to the
GraduateCollege website.

Each seminar has forty slots available.  Only UIC enrolled graduate students may attend, and you must register prior to attending.  You must have a valid UIC netid in order to register.

There is no on-site registration, and walk-ins cannot be accommodated.

All seminars contain the same content.  Please register for only one seminar, in order to accommodate all students.
