Because UIC is a PartnerUniversity with the DAAD, graduating seniors and graduate students who are interested in applying for a DAAD Study Scholarship or Research Grant to pursue study in Germany must go through a campus process. The process is ONLY for the Study Scholarships and Research Grants. Student who wish to apply for other DAAD awards do so individually and do not need to go through the Graduate College. The campus deadline for the DAAD Study Scholarships and Research Grants is Thursday, November 5th 2009 at 3:00 p.m. By 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 6th, you must have completed, submitted and printed the online application, and delivered one signed hard copy along with ALL supplemental application materials to Lisa Knepshield in the Graduate College. Your application will be reviewed and you will be interviewed by a UIC/DAAD pre-selection committee which will meet during on Tuesday, November 10th, in preparation for the final institutional deadline of Friday, November 13th. Fulbright-Hays Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad (DDRA)
The campus deadline for online submission of the Fulbright-Hays DDRA isThursday, November 19th. The application is submitted to the Federal Department of Education, and therefore must go through the Office of Research Services for review and preparation of cover documents. In addition to submission of the online applications, applicants must provide official copies of all graduate transcripts to Lisa Knepshield in the Graduate College by the November 19th deadline. Per grant requirements, these transcripts will be submitted to the Department of Education. The final institutional deadline is December 1, 2009. U.S. Fulbright Student Grants
The campus deadline for the U.S. Fulbright student grants is Friday, September 11, 2009. You must complete and submit the online application by Friday 9/11, as well as provide a signed hard copy of that application with ALL supplemental materials by 3:00 p.m., Friday 9/11 to Lisa Knepshield in the Graduate College. The early deadline is required for the campus review process. You will have the opportunity to modify your application prior to the final submission deadline of October 19, 2009.
