Congratulations on beginning your graduate education!

The Graduate College will host the campus-wide orientation for new graduate students this fall on Wednesday, August 19, 2009.  It will be held in the Illinois Room of Student Center East (3rd Floor).  Please see the campus map here.  Check-in begins at 8:30 am, with opening remarks at 9:00.  The program concludes around noon, with lunch provided afterwards.

Orientation will offer you the opportunity to become familiar with Graduate College and University staff, procedures, and services.  Participating offices in the past have included the Library, Student Accounts, Student health, and Athletics.  We will also have several speakers, including senior administrators at UIC and from the Graduate College.

For the full orientation schedule click here.

This event has a capacity of 300 students and reservations will be taken online, through UIC Connect (login information is provided with your official admission letter from the Office of Admissions and Records).  Orientation information appears as a checklist item on the student's UIC Connect homepage.

Congratulations again on your decision to pursue graduate study.  We look forward to seeing you on August 19!

Students should, if possible, also obtain the I-card student ID while on campus from the Photo ID center in Student Services Building (they will need to bring a printout of their class schedules and a photo ID).  For more information about the I-card and for locations on campus where students may obtain one, click here.
