Federal graduate STEM fundingApplying for graduate fellowships in STEM fields from the NSF and other federal agenciesOn April 11th, 2007, the Graduate College hosted a series of presentations on graduate fellowships provided by the National Science Foundation (NSF) and Department of Defense (DoD). We thank all who were able to attend, especially those from outside UIC. Presentations were given by the American Society for Engineering Education, which administers the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program, the DoD National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate fellowship program, and the DoD Science, Mathematics and Research for Transformation (SMART) scholarship-for-service program. The fellowships are for graduate students in the STEM fields, i.e., Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. Please note that Sciences includes most social (behavioral) sciences. The ASEE has graciously agreed to share their presentation materials. For the presentation on the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program, please click here. For the presentation on the Department of Defense programs, please click here. Further information sessions given by the UIC Graduate College Fellowship Office on these awards will be scheduled throughout the summer and fall; please check back to this site or with your academic program’s Director of Graduate Studies for information. If you have questions about these fellowships, Graduate College fellowships, information sessions or other fellowship-related matters, please contact Lisa Knepshield, Fellowship Coordinator for the Graduate College. |
